Carole Jorge is currently enrolled in the master’s course in Biomedical Materials and Devices from the University of Aveiro. At the present, she is studying decellularized matrix bioinks for 3D biofabrication of breast cancer in vitro models, which she has been studying since her final year of her bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology. During the summer of 2021, she won a scholarship to participate in a summer internship at Montfort University in Leicester, United Kingdom, where she developed delayed burst release formulations for vaccine and antibody delivery. Besides oncology and drug delivery, her main areas of academic interest encompass tissue engineering, cosmetic chemistry and scientific illustration.
Outside of the lab, she is passionate about travelling, camping and volleyball.
