Mariana Carvalho obtained her Master’s Degree in Biochemistry with a specialization in Biomolecular Methods, from University of Aveiro, in 2023. Her Master’s project focused on the bioengineering of innervated pancreatic cancer 3D models to study the tumor-nerve interaction and to stablish a model for drugs screening. Currently, she is a Ph.D research fellow at Compass group and at two non-academic institutions, and she is working on the development of 3D biomimetic in vitro lung cancer innervated models to study the role of innervation in this neoplasia. During her free time, Mariana enjoys cooking, listening to music and spending time with friends.
