Ana Margarida Costa obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from the University of Aveiro. During her studies, she focused on optimizing the optical properties of luminescent and non-luminescent hydrogel-based waveguides for efficient light guidance in biomedical applications. She is currently a Ph.D. research fellow in the COMPASS research group, where she is developing in-situ forming flexible hydrogel-based waveguides for localized light delivery in tissues.
In addition to her research endeavors, Margarida enjoys reading, painting, exploring new places through travel, and sharing quality time with family and friends.
