Filipa Teixeira is a research fellow at the COMPASS Research Group, CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, University of Aveiro. She holds an MSc in Bioengineering and is currently completing her PhD in Regenerative Medicine at Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
Her research focuses on biomaterials and advanced 3D cell culture systems for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. During her PhD at the MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine, she developed stem cell-based spheroid models and biomaterial platforms for vascularized bone regeneration, integrating biofabrication strategies with bioanalytical techniques to assess angiogenic and osteogenic potential.
Filipa has several years of experience in multidisciplinary and international research environments, including participation in EU-funded projects. Her expertise encompasses primary and stem cell culture, 3D cell models (both scaffold-based and scaffold-free), and a range of bioanalytical methods, including qPCR, ELISA, immunofluorescence, and histology.
Her current research focuses on developing biomaterial-based platforms and advanced in vitro models to support translational applications in regenerative medicine.
