Ana Santos Coquillat obtained her Biotechnology degree (2013) from Universitat Rovira i Virgili and her MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) in 2014. In her PhD thesis she developed and biovalidated new surface treatments for biomaterials for Tissue Engineering applications (UCM, 2018). From 2019 to 2022, she worked in the Biomedical Imaging and Instrumentation Group at Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Gregorio Marañón (Madrid, Spain) as a Postdoctoral Researcher, focusing on developing new molecular probes based on small extracellular vesicles (sEV) and monoclonal antibodies.
As a Junior Researcher at the Compass RG – CICECO (University of Aveiro), her main interests are applying stem cells (including their EVs) in therapy for immunomodulatory and regenerative purposes.
Outside of the lab, Ana enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She loves to travel, cook and hike.
