Deniz Atila graduated from the Department of Biology at the Middle East Technical University (2011) and completed a MSc degree (2014) & a PhD degree (2021) in Engineering Sciences at the same university. During the MSc, he focused on the development of 3-dimensional electrospun networks composed of natural complementary polymers for skin and bone tissue engineering. During the PhD, he worked on designing injectable hydrogel systems for dental tissue engineering. After the first part of the thesis studies in Turkey, he finished the second part in Taiwan National Health Research Institutes as a fellowship holder. Meanwhile, he worked on the formulations of other composite scaffolds, consisting of micro/nanoparticles, patches/membranes, multifunctional hydrogels, and drug delivery platforms as side projects or collaborative research. Then, he started to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Lodz University of Technology in Poland (2022), led the establishment of a cell culture laboratory besides scientific activities on antimicrobial hydrogels for dental tissue engineering, and finally joined CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials at the University of Aveiro (2024) as a postdoctoral researcher.
