Djenisa Helene Ascenção Rocha got her BSc in Biochemistry and Food Chemistry (2008), MSc in Organic Chemistry and Natural Products (2009) and PhD in Chemistry (branch Organic Chemistry) in 2015 all at the University of Aveiro. During her PhD, she made synthesis, isolation and characterization of nitrogen and oxygen heterocyclic compounds. She also acquired knowledge in field of cell culture, studying the anticancer property of polyphenolic compounds in cancer cell lines. Currently she is a postdoctoral researcher at COMPASS Research Group. Her work focuses on the modification and functionalization of biopolymers for biomedical applications. In her free time, she enjoys travel, listen music and hiking.
