Hugo completed his bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology in 2021 from the University of Aveiro with a final project on the Human Heme binding protein´s role in immunology. He is currently enrolled in a master’s degree on Molecular Biotechnology and Bioengineering (UA) and in 2022 joined the COMPASS research group to write his thesis on the development of 3D printable porous dECM Hydrogels for tissue engineering.
His main academic interests are tissue engineering, genetic engineering, sustainability, and scientific communication. In his free time, he enjoys reading, watching documentaries, the occasional run, and videogames.
