Irene Bertolo obtained her master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 2022, with a specialization in Bionanotechonolgy. She carried out her master’s thesis at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, with a project focused on the development of an injectable hydrogel for the delivery of nucleic acid therapeutics. Irene now holds a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Ph.D. scholarship within the Theratools European project (https://theratools.eu/). In the scope of this project, she will work for one year at COMPASS research group developing a 3D biomimetic in vitro model of glioblastoma, after which she will continue her job at the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastián. Besides work, Irene enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and joining cultural events.
