The ERC Grants that have been conceded to the COMPASS Research Group have permitted to advance in innovative concepts using natural macromolecules in sophisticated devices to accommodate human cells towards bone tissue regeneration or to be used in disease models. In particular the project REBORN, from the ERC Advanced Grant starting in November 2021, will use neonatal tissues that, instead of being discarded as biological waste, will be the source of proteins and cells to fabricate multiscale structures adequate to form high quality bone tissue.
