Rui Almeida is a research fellow at the COMPASS group. He obtained his Biomedical Sciences degree at University of Beira Interior (2015) where he developed interest for biomaterials and tissue engineering which lead him to the Integrated Master in Bioengineering, specialized in Molecular Biotechnology at University of Porto (2018). During his master, he worked at the i3S/INEB, where he developed nanoparticles for drug delivery and immunomodulation. Currently, his research is focused on nanobiotechnology, tissue engineering and on the development of 3D tissue disease models. Outside the lab, Rui hobbies include travel, nature and enjoy good time with friends and family.
