Ana Sofia Silva is a BSc (2009) and MSc (2011) in Biomedical Sciences from University of Beira Interior (UBI) and a PhD in Bioengineering from NOVA, New University of Lisbon (2015). Her PhD, within the frame of the MIT-Portugal Program, was focused on the development of nano-in- micro dry powder formulations using supercritical assisted-CO2 technologies.
Currently, Sofia is a Junior Researcher at the COMPASS Research Group and her main research interest falls in the engineering of personalized and magnetic-responsive natural and cell-derived materials for tissue regeneration purposes.
Outside of the lab, Sofia loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling and running.
