Bruno Morais is a research fellow at the COMPASS group where he is developing adhesive biopolymer matrices as multifunctional micro- and nanocarriers for targeted, controlled, and safe delivery of agrochemicals to crops. He obtained a Master degree in Biophysics and Bionanosystems (2015) and a Master degree in Biotechnology (2018), both at the University of Minho. His work in biophysics consisted in developing antimicrobial photocatalytic TiO2 nanocomposites, while his biotechnology work focused on the study of the effects of oxygen on the anaerobic conversion of petroleum-based compounds. His main areas of scientific interest are nano-based systems and microbiology and hopes his future research can combine the two. In his free time, he enjoys going out with friends or just relax and watch TV series and movies.
