Cátia Monteiro holds a BSc (2016) and a MSc (2018) in Biotechnology at the University of Aveiro. In April 2024, she concluded her PhD in Biotechnology, at the same institution. During her PhD, she was actively engaged in generating novel pathophysiological 3D static and dynamic models for bone cancer, integrating human platelet lysate-based materials.
Currently, Cátia is a Junior Researcher at the COMPASS Research Group and her research interests lie on the development of 3D healthy and cancer models exploring biomaterials from human origin and a cutting-edge technology, microfluidic organ-on-a-chip devices.
In her free time, she likes to stay with her family and friends, practice sports, and watch TV series.
