Leonor Matias holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and a Master’s Degree in Biomaterials and Nanomedicine from the University of Aveiro, where she developed a strong interest in biomaterials, biofabrication, and regenerative medicine. For her master’s dissertation, she worked on the development of 3D-printed scaffolds based on brushite composite bone cements stabilised with metal ion doping, targeting bone regeneration applications. She is currently a research fellow in the COMPASS research group, within the OrthoAlloUnion project, contributing to the development of biomaterials and cell-based strategies for bone regeneration.
Outside of her research, Leonor values a balanced lifestyle, regularly engaging in physical activity and spending time with her friends and family, considering these moments essential for maintaining well-being and perspective.
