Mariana B. Oliveira completed a master’s degree in biomedical engineering (2010; University of Minho) and earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2014 from the same university. During PhD she focused on the development of materiomics-enabling devices to assess cells-biomaterials interactions. She joined CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials at the University of Aveiro in 2016, and since then has developed her research on cell-based approaches for immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. Mariana has led 3 research projects on this topic, and has also joined several research endeavours dealing with the all-aqueous processing of biomaterials, as well as complementary tools to characterize biological responses.
Outside the lab, Mariana dedicates her time to the family. Still finds some time to listen to new and old music, with a penchant for the underground.
