Vera Sousa completed her degree in Biochemistry in 2017 at University of Aveiro. In the same institution she posteriorly followed the classes in which concluded the master’s degree in Molecular Biomedicine on 18th December of 2019. During her master thesis, she worked at the Department of Biology, where she worked with cationic porphyrinic photosensitizers in the inactivation of Candida albicans in blood and blood plasma. Currently, Vera is a research fellow at the COMPASS Research Group, where she is working on the synthesis of biopolymer conjugates for biomedical and healthcare applications. Outside of the laboratory, she enjoys spending time with friends, read, travel and meet different cultures and people.
